A MODEL BUILT ON FAITH

OCCUR and the San Francisco Foundation are partnering tosupport the Faith-based community in the Bay Area. The pact was thetopic of a very successful conference presented at the Oakland MuseumNovember 8th. The program has been launched to build the capacity ofnumerous faith-based institutions and support the outstanding workbeing performed.

Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums delivered aspirited welcome and other speakers addresses the important work to bedone and the challenges to be met in the areas of childcare, violencereduction, healthcare, senior services, emergency assistance, job andcareer development, housing and a host of other vital programs that thefaith-based community has long supported.
