Over a decade ago, OCCUR's board considered starting a tech training center. The reasons then as now are that one of the most important things an individual could do to enhance their options and opportunities would be gaining computer and technology skills and literacy. For the past 11 years ECC provided access and training to well over 50,000 residents and has been a major factor in bridging the digital divide in East Oakland, and serves as a national model community technology center. |
